BidMate –  What it is

BidMate is the automated Bidding Assistant that follows your directions and lets you bid on an auction at times you have to be away from your computer or when you want to take charge of an auction.  BidMate places bids at random intervals starting with a price at which you decide you want BidMate to start bidding for you.  It will continue until it either uses up the bids allotted to it or the price exceeds the maximum spending limit you assign.

Bidmate – How it Bids

BidMate  will start placing it’s allocated bids at the auction price you designate as the Mimimum Bid.  After the current price on the auction has reached that number BidMate will start to bid for you by immediately placing 1 bid.

But Bidmate won’t spend your bids without a good reason – it will patiently wait and bid strategically and randomly for you.  Your bids will be placed randomly between 18 and 1 second with an emphasis on random numbers below 12 seconds.

Battling BidMates - Fight to the Finish

What happens when 2 or more bidders are using Bidmate?   The BidMates will square off and use all of their allocated bids until one is out of bids or the BidMate’s bidding parameters have been fulfilled.   If the auction time is greater than 2 minutes then there is no effect on the auction time.  However, if the auction time is between 1 second and 2 minutes when the BidMate’s clash – then the countdown clock is adjusted to add 1 minute to give all parties time to contenplate a strategy.

We don’t add per bid time increases when automatic bidding is activated because we want  all active bidders out there to be able to get back in the game with out long delays.  You shouldn’t have to wait to win!

Bidmate Tips

You’ll have to use at least two bids when programming BidMate so if you just want to place a single bid, simply click the bid button.  This is handy to do before putting in a larger quantity of bids into an BidMate as you can identify if another Bidmate is active or not.   Typically you don’t want to activate a BidMate when another is active as you don’t know how many bids are allocated.  Then again, there are opportunities and situations where pushing a competitor’s autobid out of bids can be a strategic move and help you win.

You can change your BidMate if you need to at any time before it encounters another Bidmate and starts firing.
