Bidazzled provides bid updates to your computer in well under a second. However, your pc determines how quickly it will place the bid and display it on the Screen. These settings optimize your performance.
Optimal Settings:
- Close all non-necessary windows and programs.
- Open Bidazzled in a new browser
- Refresh your screen periodically
Computer Hardware Configuration:
- A Fast CPU (Processor) 2.2 GHz or higher
- RAM. At least 2 GIG – more is better (4 is preferred)
Recommended for any auction site:
Open Your Performance Usage History by clicking on “Start”, “My Computer” and then click on Windows Task Manager (Control, Alt, Delete hit at the same time usually brings this utility up). Then select “Performance”. This chart on the top right shows how much your System Cache is being used. Left on an auction page for a while with no refreshes – you will slowly see the chart trend upwards. This is a good visual monitor to let you know when to refresh.
How Bidazzled and Your Computer Work
For best results, it is helpful to know how Bidazzled and your computer work together. When you place a bid, your computer sends that information to our server which updates the bid, current price and the bidder on the server. Your computer also sends out requests for update for all bidding information on your screen every .5 to .7 of a second. Upon receipt of this information, the server sends the updated information back to your computer. This process takes under a second from start to finish. However, if your RAM is busy with other projects or there is not much available – it will impact performance: see below.
I place a bid, why does it take 2-3 seconds for it to show?
The answer 99% of the time is Ram. The longer you leave your computer on a single page, your computer will start caching little bits of information on your computers RAM (system cache), this is nominal at first but over time it will slow your machine down as the Ram becomes full. This is true for most interactive sites and is due to the vast amounts of information that is being passed back and forth between the server and your machine. If you do not have a lot of RAM or have a lot of other applications running, your available RAM is lower and will fill up quicker. A screen refresh is in order and in some cases – close the browser and open in a new browser.
I Bid with 5 seconds left and it never took the bid
This would be RAM, result of your RAM being heavily used is that it makes your computers performance sluggish. So even though you clicked Bid, it may very well not have placed the bid. On older machines running under 1 GHz and have under 500 Meg in RAM, this is a common occurrence on interactive sites. Frequent refresh of your browser is recommended.
Auction showed Closed for a few seconds and then started back up again?
Same answer as above. Ram usage has made your computer perform slowly. It is not showing items as quickly as it can. Specifically, your computer may not have sent out the request for the page to be updated (due to the sluggish performance), so the actual time and recent bids are not yet showing on your screen – in the absence of additional bid information – your screen will continue to count down.
REFRESH YOUR SCREEN
